There is a reason this is marked as a signature point along the Wild Atlantic Way. Its stunning natural beauty and fascinating history going back to WW1 and the weather tower dating back to 1885 makes it a great day out to discover its past. Its windy though, so be prepared. - Doagh Famine Village
If ever you wanted to learn more about the history of Donegal and its struggles during major historical events like the Famine, then this is the place you must visit. This animal sanctuary is a newly opened facility in 2019 for rehomed rescue bears, wolves and lynx cats to name a few. You can enjoy a walk around the santuary and listen to the animal keepers tell interesting stories about their past and current lives. Inishowen has the most amazing selection of beaches to enjoy from Lisfannon Beach next to the hotel (a recent blue flag beach and noted as one of the top beaches in Ireland) to Kinnegoe Bay.
